No, this program is only offered fully online.

We have human and ecotoxicological hazard (risk) assessments included in this program. We do not focus on occupational aspects but the broader process looking at human risk assessments which includes evaluating the risk to a general population from a chemical exposure through several routes (oral, dermal, inhalation, e.g., food, water, consumer products etc.). So, this broader approach is not limited to workplace settings. For occupational settings, the exposure data and the regulatory focus will be different but the steps in the assessment are very similar.

We use the learning management system ‘Canvas’ to distribute recorded lectures and documents. We also use it for quizzes, assignments, communication with students, interactions between students (e.g., group assignments), and grading. Videos are available online if you would like to know more about its features before you apply. We also offer an introduction to the system to new program participants before the first course starts, so everyone is ready to use it.

Yes, we have our synchronous meetings twice a week. If groups need to meet to discuss, for example, for group assignments, we had groups that scheduled a group meeting before or after these synchronous meetings or used the same meeting time on different days of the week. However, we also advise using OneDrive or other options that allow all group members to work on a document in real-time and provide feedback through added comments within the document. This can reduce the need for online meetings, especially if it is difficult to find a time that works for everyone. We also set up groups in Canvas, which allows students to add announcements, discussions, or share files.

No, but the course lead instructors (and all additional instructors) are available if problems or questions arise. We try to answer emails within 24 – 48 h unless it is a weekend or holidays, then it might take little longer.
